What a good quote includes
Who it's for, a short description of the job, each item or hour with its price, tax, the total, how long the price holds and your deposit and payment terms. A signature line turns an accepted quote into a simple agreement.
Quote or estimate?
A quote is a fixed price for a defined job, usually valid for a set time. An estimate is your best guess when the final cost can change. Use the estimate template when you can't be sure until the work is open.

Do the totals add up by themselves?
Yes. Quantities multiply out, then subtotal, tax, shipping or fees and the total are worked out for you. Any row can also take a fixed amount.
How long should a quote be valid?
Commonly 30 days, shorter when material prices move fast. Put the date on the quote so there's no question later.
