How it works
The date of sale, the full names and addresses of the seller and buyer, a description detailed enough to identify the item (serial, VIN or hull number), the price, the payment method, whether it is sold as is, and both signatures.
Private sales of cars, motorcycles, boats, trailers, livestock, furniture or business equipment. Many DMVs ask for a bill of sale to register or title a vehicle, and it protects both sides if a question comes up later.
Some states and countries have their own official bill of sale form or require a notary for certain vehicles. Use this one as your record of the sale and check what your registration office asks for.
FAQ
Yes. Edit it, download a PNG at print quality or print it, with no sign-up and no watermark.
Usually not, but a few states require it for vehicles or boats. Add a notary block with a text line and a signature if yours does.
It is a receipt and more: besides the payment it records the transfer of ownership and the terms (as is, free of liens), signed by both parties.
