How it works
How to use the fake text message generator
- 01Pick a platform above the preview: iMessage, WhatsApp, Instagram and more.
- 02Click any bubble to edit it, or add messages from either person in the Messages panel.
- 03Set names, pictures, the clock, battery and dark mode.
- 04Download the PNG at 1×, 2× or 3×, or copy it straight into your post.
One conversation, every app
Your messages don't belong to one app. Switch from iMessage to WhatsApp or Instagram and everything carries over: people, bubbles, reactions, timestamps. Only the look changes.
Made for memes, stories and mockups
Text-story videos, comic punchlines, app prototypes, slide decks, film and TV props, teaching examples. Anything where you need a conversation that looks real, without screenshotting real people.
Private by design
Everything runs in your browser. Your conversation and pictures never leave your device; we don't have an account system to keep them in even if we wanted to.
FAQ
Questions
Is the fake text generator free?
Yes. Every platform, every export size, no watermark and no sign-up.
Can I make a group chat?
Yes. Add people in the People panel; names appear above their messages and avatars beside them, as in the real apps.
Can I use these screenshots to fool someone?
Please don't. Mockling is for parody, storytelling, design and education. Passing a made-up conversation off as real to deceive or harass someone can be illegal, and it's always unkind.
Mockling makes mockups for parody, storytelling, design and education. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any of the platforms it imitates; their names are trademarks of their owners. Don't use mockups to deceive, impersonate or harass anyone.
